Katie Smith is an IDCORE student based at FloWave working towards her EngD. As of 2022 Katie has just begun her project but is looking to investigate how hydrodynamic numerical modelling and tank test programmes can be designed and conducted in parallel with specific focus on station-keeping systems for floating offshore renewable energy applications.

Katie graduated with distinction with an MEng in Mechanical Engineering with Aeronautics from the University of Strathclyde before joining IDCORE in 2021 and FloWave in 2022.
